Dj Prisss

Dj Prisss is a Brighton-based DJ, live electronic music curator, and audio systems designer whose deep technical expertise and decades-long passion for sound set her apart in the underground electronic scene.

A lifelong music obsessive, Prisss began building and restoring vinyl playback systems as a child and went on to design and manufacture high-end audio equipment, including vacuum tube amplifiers, horn-loaded loudspeakers, and innovative vinyl replay systems. She developed phono cartridges for Audio Note (models that remain in production and on their website today) and created experimental tonearm designs, including the spring-based “Delta-I” for Audio Innovations. This hands-on engineering background, combined with her industrial design training and exceptional three-dimensional visualization skills, informs every aspect of her DJing and event work.

Since 2013, performing as Prisss, she has released over 60 live, minimally edited DJ mixes exploring techno, deep house, chill-out, experimental grooves, and beyond. Her sets are available on Mixcloud and Hearthis.at, where she focuses on evolving fresh, exciting sonic journeys.

She has performed internationally, including a DJ set at Eden Gardens on Haad Yuan beach, Koh Phangan, Thailand in 2014, where she also designed custom loudspeaker mountings for the club.

Since its founding in 2013, Prisss has been a driving force behind beep (Brighton Experimental Electronic Performers), helping grow the collective to over 2,200 members and curating regular monthly live electronic gigs. She installed a signature vacuum tube sound system at Speakers Corner (Brighton’s original “Listening Café”) and continues to support the scene through promotion, technical innovation, and performances at local events and RA-listed nights.

Drawing on global travels to more than 45 countries and a multidisciplinary background in design, education, and community projects, Prisss delivers sets and events that are technically precise, sonically adventurous, and community-oriented—celebrating electronic music’s power to connect and inspire.
